Keelan brings an enthusiastic approach to planning with a range of strategic, statutory and environmental planning experience. Keelan recently joined the Locale team with a keen interest in working on projects that shape the future of regional NSW.
He has previous experience working as a Graduate Town Planner at a multi-disciplinary consultancy in regional NSW which involved a diverse range of projects including delivering statutory and strategic planning documents.
He has produced several professional planning documents including Statement of Environmental Effects (SEE), Review of Environmental Factors (REF) and Land Use Risk Conflict Assessments (LUCRA). Keelan is also proficient in designing subdivision concept plans, creating preliminary planning assessments and assisting with Development Applications that accord with legislation across multiple consent authorities. This role gained Keelan exposure to complex projects and has developed his exceptional time management skills when it comes to delivering professional documents for a deadline. Integrity and honesty are important and enjoys seeking out solutions that benefit all stakeholders involved in the project.
His strength is in his passion for regional NSW planning which is reflected in his eagerness and active engagement in each project. Keelan’s desire to help shape the future of regional NSW goes beyond consultancy to an extensive range of extra-curricular activities he is involved in. He is an active volunteer in his local community in roles including
- Administrator and Event Director at Coffs Trail Runners – a thriving group with 300+ members
- Rotary Club of Woolgoolga Member and past RYLA recipient
- Director at Coffs Harbour parkrun – a free weekly community event
- Event Director at Orienteering NSW and Rogaining NSW
- Vice President of Woolgoolga Athletics Club
- Former President, Coach and Event Director at Macquarie University Squash Club – the largest squash club in NSW
