Riversdale Masterplan Development Application
Locale has provided ongoing planning advice and technical support throughout the master planning and funding process for a $30M arts and cultural facility at Riversdale on the Shoalhaven River, South Coast NSW. This is an ongoing project that commenced in 2015.
The project most recently involved Locale as the lead planner for the preparation and negotiation of a major development application to enable the development to proceed.
The project will reinforce the current use of the Australian Government owned site (which accommodates the original home and studio of Arthur Boyd) and will include the construction of:
- A new gallery building, incorporating an art gallery, collection management and administration spaces
- A new bridge building (creative learning centre), incorporating accommodation, workshop, catering / cafe and associated circulation / break out spaces
- Associated site infrastructure including new access road, parking areas, footbridge and pedestrian access pathways, site services updates and associated landscaping.
Importantly, the project will create a dedicated, bush fire safe gallery space for Arthur Boyd’s collection, partially buried in the landscape that inspired so much of his work.
